Ayuttaya - Royal Summer Palace

Our first full day was spent on a tour to Ayuttaya, a former captial of Thailand an hour north of Bangkok. The first stop was to Bang Pa In, the summer palace for the king Rama V. The current king of Thailand, Rama IV, has ruled 60 years an occasionally uses the grounds. The palace is unique in that Rama V designed it after his travels to Europe.

View of some of the palace buildings.

There is a golden statue of Rama V in the middle of the Thai building.

Enjoying the grass and 90 degree weather on the grounds.

More buildings within the palace grounds.
