Marin's Lovey

Marin loves her little pink elephant. She has chewed on just about every side and loves to cuddle with it. These were some cute shots as we were preparing for sleep.

Nanjing Road

Bella was adorable as she went up to the steps and just sat down. Then she insisted that Daddy sit on one side and Mommy the other. People were crowding all around us as she chose the seat right in front of the Ox set up for viewing and taking pictures in front of. She didn't care one bit and just had a seat and kept moving higher from one step to the next while each of us had to sit next to her each time. Marin just looked on. There wasn't much she could do as Mommy had her way too bundled up.

People's Park & Shanghai Museum

Smiley was ready to break loose of this suit.
Bella was so cute walking around the museum with her hands on her knees. We weren't really sure why she was doing this but she had a blast and entertained the guards in every room.

We had a little tugging back and forth for the audio.

Bella won out in the end and loved pressing the buttons and listening to the voice on the other end.

Views from brunch

Walking the Bund

The Bund is the old town of Shanghai. There is a scenic walk set up along the river to check out the views of new town and the older buildings of old town.

Off to see the bund

In front of the TV tower by the Bund.
We took the underwater sightseeing tunnel set up under the river. It is very strange. Bella didn't enjoy it very much as it was a bit scary with the loud music and neon lights. Marin was a bit more engaged though we think she was just as confused as the rest of us.

We crossed from the Pudong district over to the bund via the sightseeing tunnel. It was 0 Celsius today and Bella was in a much better mood. She walked and jumped everywhere.

YuYuan Gardens

We stopped to warm up and have some lunch. We enjoyed dumplings at the famous Nanixang Dumpling house. Bella had a blast eating all the watermelon that was meant to ease the spice from Mommy and Daddy's hot dumplings.

The YuYuan Gardens were pretty to walk around. Bella had Daddy carry her everywhere but for a brief moment she did try to warm up a bit with a little jumping.

Old Town

Old Town is a cool bazaar area full of what else - loads of shopping. The area was brightly decorated for CNY and showing off the year of the Ox. We had a good time exploring the streets and ducking in for warmth.
We underestimated the weather a bit, as it was -7 Celsius. Marin was all wrapped up in her snowsuit but Bella was cold. She was a trooper the first day bearing the cold. We took lots of breaks but realized it was time to head in and add more layers.

Off to Shanghai for CNY

We took a last minute trip to Shanghai over Chinese New Year. The girls were perched in their seats all ready to go. And Bella loves to ride atop the luggage through the airport. It is a perfect seat for her.

Marin

Marin was enjoying her first finger foods with some cereal.
Here we are working on our crawling skills. We are up on all fours and rocking. Not long now.

We chew everything all the time.

HK Wetland Park

Bella was checking out Pui Pui the crocodile. And comparing him to the one in her safari book.
It was quite warm at the wetland. Though nice enough to stroll around and look at the birds and fish. The view wasn't so bad either.

Bella was trying to build her own origami crocodile. The man kept doing it for her. There did seem to be a lot of parts.

Our natural bird watcher. Bella loved the telescope.

How tall am I? 1 meter says the monkey.

Going down the slide in the adventure swamp at the wetlands.

Bella loves the steps and these were perfect size for her to do on her own! Way to go Bella.
